DIY Nail Art

Esta semana he decidido hacer mi primer experimento de nail art, ya que es una de mis aficiones y este ha sido el resultado! He querido convertir algo básico como es la manicura francesa en algo más navideño o festivo y de aquí ha salido la "golden french manicure". Si esta navidad queréis sorprender con vuestras uñas seguid estos sencillos pasos y no penséis que se necesita un arte especial, todas podéis hacerlo. 

Para ello necesitaréis todo lo que aparece en la fotografía (o parecido): 

• Esmalte de uñas blanco de Essie  ya que es muy resistente y dura más tiempo que el resto. 
• Pincel de Nail Art, yo uso este de Kiss Nail Art, pero podéis usar cualquiera. 
• Esmalte de uñas de OPI, el color que yo uso es "bubble bath" pero os sirve cualquier color de manicura francesa. 
• Esmalte de uñas dorado de Isadora, color exclusivo de Perfumerías Douglas (También os voy a enseñar los otros colores de la colección ya que me encantan todos!)
• Top Coat de Sally Hansen que podéis encontrar en Sephora.
• Corrector Clean-up Manicure Pen de Sally Hansen que también podéis encontrar uno parecido en Sephora.

This week I have decided to do my first experiment with nail art since it is one of my hobbies and this is the result! I wanted to turn something basic as french manicure to something more festive or Xmas thing, so from this we got the "Golden French Manicure". If you want to surprise this Christmas with your nails follow these simple steps and don’t think it needs a special art, all you can do it!

• White Essie nail polish. This one is very durable and lasts longer than the rest. 
• Brush Nail Art. I use this from Kiss Nail Art, but you can use any. 
•  OPI Nail Polish, this one is "bubble bath" but any french manicure can work. 
• Isadora golden nail polish, exclusive color from Perfumerías Douglas (I will also show you the other colors of the collection since I love them all!)
•  Sally Hansen Top Coat that you can find at any Sephora.
• Clean-up Corrector Manicure Pen from Sally Hansen you can find it at CVS or a similar one at Sephora.

Bye Gossip Girl

Hola a todos! El momento ha llegado, Gossip Girl ha terminado después de 6 intensas temporadas y por fin se ha revelado la identidad de "la reina cotilla" o Gossip Girl y la verdad, no me ha sorprendido tanto como pensé. Pero este post no es para compartir spoilers, sino para compartir con todos vosotros mi reflexión sobre la serie. 

Ha habido dos grandes series que giran en torno a los mismos temas (el amor, la ciudad de NY y la moda) Sexo en NY y Gossip Girl. Hay que reconocer que la mejor serie de todos los tiempos ha sido y será Sexo en NY, pero Gossip Girl ha sabido llenar bastante bien el vacío que nos dejó Sex and the City.

Desde el primer capítulo, Gossip me ha emocionado, hecho reír, pasarlo mal e incluso ha hecho que se me escape alguna lágrima que otra (dentro de que la serie ha tenido sus altibajos). Pero estos no son los motivos por los cuales la he seguido durante todo este tiempo, sino porque muestra una realidad de chicos "pijos" que han nacido con todo lo que podrían desear y aun así tienen que luchar por todo lo que quieren de verdad. Lo más importante por lo que luchan es lo que es para mi aquello con lo que no se puede vivir: EL AMOR. 

Creo que para que una serie sea buena tiene que enseñarnos algo que nos llegue al corazón, con Gossip he aprendido que el amor verdadero lo puede todo y que hay que luchar por él. Si nos fijamos en todos los personajes (Blair-Leighton Meester, Chuck -Ed Westwick y Dan- Penn Badgley principalmente) luchan por amor con todas las armas que tienen a su alcance y cada paso que dan en su vida también es por amor. 

Por último, respecto al final muchos dirán que es flojo o que no dice nada, pero yo creo que dice lo más importante y lo que todos estábamos esperando: que si luchas por lo que deseas con tu corazón al final lo consigues, ellos consiguen ser felices alrededor de sus seres queridos ¿Hay algún final mejor posible?

Este post se lo dedico a todos los que han perdido la esperanza para que la recuperen y a todos los que han encontrado el amor para que lo cuiden y luchen por él.

Hey Everyone! Now has the moment arrived: Gossip Girl has finished after six intense seasons. They finally revealed the identity our dear Gossip Girl. It actually did not surprise me as I thought it would do. However, this post is not about sharing spoilers, but to share my reflexion about the TV-show.

There has been two great TV-shows about the same theme (love, fashion and New York): Sex and the City and Gossip Girl. Admittedly, the best series of all time has been, and will be, Sex in the City. However, Gossip Girl has managed pretty well to fill the void after Sex and the City.

From the first chapter, Gossip Girl moved me, made me laugh, being embarrassed, and left some tears on my cheeks, within the ups and downs of the TV-show. However, these are not my motives for sticking with the show all the years. The reason is that it shows the a reality of posh kids that were born with everything they could ever wish for, but still fight for what they really want. The most important thing for them is what no one can live without: LOVE.

I believe that for a show to be good it needs to show us something that touches our heart. In Gossip Girl I learned that true love can do anything and you have to fight for it. If you look at all the characters (mainly Blair-Leighton Meester, Chuck-Ed Westwick   and Dan-Penn Badgley ), they fight for love with all the arms at their disposal and every step they take is for love.

Finally, regarding the end, many will say that is weak or does not say anything. I disagree. I think the most important, and what we have all been waiting for, is said: If you fight for what you want with all of your heart, in the end you get what you want.  The characters in Gossip Girl end up happy with their loved ones end. Does a better ending exist?

This post is dedicated for both that has lost all hope, and those which have found love. You need to care of the ones you love, and fight for it.

Skirt & Slippers

Hola a todos! Qué tal la vuelta del puente? Espero que todos hayáis pasado un buen puente o por lo menos que como yo, hayáis descansado para empezar la semana con fuerza.

Hi all! How is it coming back from the long-weekend? I hope all you have had a great weekend, relaxing to start the week stronger, as I have. 

Hoy os dejo con uno de looks que más uso en invierno, la faldita y el chaleco de piel. Me encanta la tendencia de las faldas plisadas ya que son totalmente favorecedoras y muy fáciles de combinar con cualquier cosa, en este caso yo he elegido combinarla con un jersey del color de la temporada, el verdoso!

Today I show you the outfit I use the most during the winter: Skirt & fur waistcoat. I love the trend of the pleated skirts as they are totally flattering and very easy to combine with everything. In this case I have chosen to combine it with a green pullover, this season colour! 

Para hacer frente al frío polar he elegido mi “chaleco-zorrito” regalo de mi querida madre (uno de los que más aprecio), unas medias tupidas y unas slippers que dan el toque trendy al look. Por último, el bolso es un “hobo” de Coach, una de mis últimas adquisiciones ideal para llevarlo a diario.

To face the polar cold I have chosen my "foxy-waistcoat", some tights and slippers that give the trendy touch to the outfit. Ultimately, the bag is a "hobo" from Coach. This is one of my latest acquisitions, wich is perfect for a daily use.

LockIt By Louis Vuitton

Hola a todos! Hoy os traigo un post de leyendas de amor y joyas. Cuenta la leyenda que cerrando un candado en la barandilla de un puente y tirando la llave al agua, las parejas pueden sellar su amor para siempre. Los llaman “los candados del amor”. 

Hey everyone! Today I post about the legends of love and jewelry. The legend has it that closing a padlock on the railing of a bridge, and then throwing the key into the water seals the couples love least forever. It is called "locks of love".  

Esta leyenda comenzó en los años 80 en Pécs, Hungría y se ha mantenido hasta hoy (por ejemplo los que comenzaron en puente de Milvian en Roma con los libros de Federico Moccia “A tres metros sobre el cielo” y “Tengo ganas de ti”). Aquí os dejo algunos de los ejemplos más emblemáticos que hay por todo el mundo.

The legend started in the 80s in Pécs in Hungary and has survived until today. Recent examples are the novels "Three Steps Above Heaven"and "I Want You" by Federico Moccia which starts in the Milvian bridge in Rome. I attach some more iconic examples that exist around the world.

Louis Vuitton se ha inspirado en esta tradición tan romántica para su colección de joyas “Lockit” que estará disponible en sus tiendas en enero de 2013. Con ella pretende rendir homenaje a todos los enamorados del mundo y celebrar esta tradición.

El tema de la colección es uno de los iconos más emblemáticos de la marca que viene apareciendo desde su primer bolso (el Steamer Bag) a la vez que es el símbolo moderno del compromiso. Como os podéis imaginar es un candado.

Louis Vuitton has been inspired by this tradition in their jewellery collection "Lockit". It will be available in their shops January 2013. This celebrates this tradition and it's a tribute to all lovers around the world.

The theme of the collection is the brand's most emblematic icons they had on their first bag, the Steamer Bag, together with the modern symbol of engagement. As you can image, it is a padlock. 

La Maison ha convertido el candado en una joya que se puede utilizar como colgante sobre una cadena, como anillo y como pulsera para simbolizar un sentimiento libre y duradero. La versión más exclusiva del mismo, es la de alta Joyería que, cuajada de diamantes, es una réplica exacta del primer candado y su llave de oro (¡la pieza que más me gusta!)

The Maison have turned the padlock to jewelry. You may use this as a pendant on a chain, as a ring, as a bracelet to symbolise feeling of being free and durable. The most exclusive version of it is the high jewelry with paved diamonds. It is an exact replica of the first padlock with a golden key. This is the piece I like the most!
