Hola a todos! Qué tal la vuelta a la realidad?
Espero que no esté siendo muy dura. Como habéis podido observar (dada mi falta
de posts) yo también me he tomado unas pequeñas vacaciones en Austin, que
tristemente ya se han acabado :(.
Hey guys! How
is the back-to-reality process going? I hope is not being very hard. As you might
have noticed (due to the lack of posts) I have also taken a little holidays
myself, but sadly they came to an end.
Mi primer post de vuelta es un poco inusual. Si! No
os falla la vista, la iluminación por la noche es terrible para fotos, pero
creo que merece mucho la pena mostraros cómo es Austin de noche. Como una
verbena! En casi todas las ciudades americanas que he visitado no suele haber
luz pasadas las 8 de la moche, y gente tampoco, pero Austin siempre está
iluminado, como una postal navideña. En verano parece una verbena y en invierno
parece navidad desde que empieza “el frío”.
Una de estas noches de verano decidimos arreglarnos
(algo que no se hace muy frecuentemente en esta ciudad) e ir a cenar a un sitio
diferente. Como look elegí un vestido largo blanco estampado que siempre tengo
como fondo de armario. La gracia de este tipo de vestido es que vale para todo,
puedes crear un look casual de tarde si lo combinas con unas sandalias planas o
un look más arreglado, como el que yo elegí, combinándolo con mis Valentino
favoritas. Qué opináis vosotr@s?
El sitio que elegimos es el restaurante Trace, un #mustvisit de Austin. Es el restaurante/terraza del Hotel W y es lo más parecido que he
encontrado a una terracita típica Madrileña. Es precioso, se come genial aunque
la carta siempre varía y siempre hay un DJ pinchando todo tipo de música. Le
doy un 8,5 porque todavía no he visitado ni la mitad de la oferta gastronómica
de Austin. Lo podéis encontrar en el 200 LaVaca St.

My first post this fall is a bit unusual. Yes! The photos are taken with a very poor
night-light. I did it on purpose because I think it is really worth showing you
how beautiful the Austin nights are. More or less like an on going street-party/festival! As with most American cities I have visited, past 8 pm I tend to find myself alone in the dark. Austin is different, there
is no tree or street without people or lights, like a Christmas portrait (we
just miss the snow). The all-year heat along with the lights makes you feel
that you are living an endless summer!
One of this
summer nights, we decided to dress up (something we don’t do really often) and
have dinner in a different place. For my evening look I wanted to wear
something easy breezy, cold, but elegant. That is why I choose a white printed
maxi dress, one of my summer basics. I love this type of dresses! They can turn
out to be a casual look combined with flats or a night look combined with cute
heels (just like I did with my favorite Valentinos).
We went to
the Trace restaurant, a part of the W Hotel and a true Austin #mustvisit. I love
it because it reminds me to the Madrid terraces I used to spend my summer in.
It is gorgeous; the food is great although the menu changes; and there is
always good music in the background. You might find it in 200 LaVaca St. I
give it a 8.5 over 10, there is a lot more to see!
